The article is devoted to semantic syncretism of the preposition between. Semantic syncretism in the language plan is shown by idea of equivalence of the substanse entering the spatial, temporary and object relations, in the syntagmatic plan — variability of functioning, prediction stylistic tightness of the preposition.
