The phenomenon of knowledge: Philospophy vs. Semantics

The article deals with the notion knowledge from the philosophical and linguistic viewpoint. It considers comparing its meaning and implication diachronically. The materials of various dictionaries are taken as the subject of study to reveal the constant components in its meaning. The results demonstrated similar interpretation of know/ knowledge in philosophy and semantics meanwhile preserving some discrepancy: knowledge-opinion is not preserved in semantics.
